Day 2 Camping and Touring in Cottonwood, AZ

We started our Day 2 in Cottonwood, Az with a tour of Old Town Cottonwood....a charming little town that has re-furbished the original part of their little town and kept lots of the charm... come along to see what we visited.

Cottonwood has lots of Painted Barrels around town - with all different themes - like the painted horses /cows/ and more in other little towns.

Cottonwood also calls itself the 'Biggest Little Town in Az' and take pride in their landscaping & town upkeep.

As we got into town we decided to start our tour with a good lunch at Orien's Bakery - they make great sandwiches on their homemade bread - sandwiches are a good size so we mostly split the sandwiches and had plenty.

There are alot of Wineries here in the area so we decided to pop into the Arizona Stronghold Winery in Old Town because one of the Wine Maker / Owners of this one was the lead guitarist for Enigma and their logo has that Enigma feel to it if you know their music.

Their Site Archive wines are not available in stores so we wanted to sample those the most.

Cheryl & I tasted a few White Wines and Sue Tasted the Reds. All their wines are very good - and the whites have a nice 'creamy' taste which I love - so we did buy a bottle for later.

This is an old Gas Station that was transformed to Bings Burger Restaurant with all old 50's decor.

We found this Huge Antiques Store and the fun started as we explored room after room of Old Stuff.

Seeing this old Switchboard - I remebered my favorite telephone operator from SNL - Ernestine

As we strolled through the Antiques we couldn't
help but remember our youth and have fun.

We got the Gas Tank Blues remembering the old gas prices.

At the end of the day of fun in Old Town Cottonwood we came back to our little home in the pines.
