Well it's official - now that we crossed the border into Canada - Blanche and Lucy are now International Travelers. Looking forward to visiting this part of Canada as we have only been to Montreal and Quebec so the central part (what they call the Prairie) - is very similar to the western states in US - lots of cowboys and plains.
Driving to the border was a little stressful as we worried what they would ask as we crossed over the border into Canada. Since 9-11 the security at the border has increased alot so we had to carry papers for the dogs and we had to be careful what we brought over the border. But we breezed through the border with barely a question.... As soon as we crossed the border we were struck with the beauty of the trees and lushness of the land.
This part of Canada is Blackfoot country.... my ancestors are Blackfoot Indians - my grandmother was full blooded Blackfoot - so I am very interested in doing a little research to see what I can find up here.
Here we are checking into the Tunnel Mountain Campground in Banff, Canada. This was part of the National Park Campgrounds.
Now that we are in Canada for a little while - we hope to understand and be able to translate the metric system of kilometers, celcius and liters.
If you double click on this photo you can see what the moose is looking at - our little girls enjoying their first visit to Canada.
