We rented a car today and took the girls to tour DC - we drove through Georgetown, drove up Embassy Row and stopped at the National Cathedral - the tallest location in Washington - because it is built on a hill it even stands higher than the Washington Monument.

After 8 hrs of driving we finally arrived in Baltimore during rush hour traffic in the rain and in some places with orange construction barrels and jersey barriers right beside us...... white knuckles and charlie horse right leg... ready to stop.... thank goodness most days are not this long driving and not this stressful.
Blanche & Lucy and their mommies - Pearl & Cheryl are on the road again....
This is our first night on the road and we didn't get too far... we are in Franklin, Mass. tonight. Cheryl's sister Cindy and her partner Paul hosted us before we 'hit the road'.
Blanche and Lucy were Delighted to be able to run through the house and up and down the 3+ flights of stairs. We were happy to be on solid ground again with a real kitchen and bathroom after almost 3 weeks of camping. Even though our first night was cold and rainy at home - we were able to turn on the fireplace and cuddle on the couch and watch big screen TV!!! Now can't wait to go out for Real (fresh) seafood !! Watch out Lobster - here I come!!
In the Finger Lakes region of New York there are tons of wineries... so we drove alone the Wine Trail - Rte 5 in upstate NY and stopped at this winery where Cheryl tasted ALL of their wines. since I was driving I only tasted their 'Chocolate Wine' & their 'Cream Sherry'. Very light wines but tasty. I bought 3 bottles to take home to share with friends......
